Kayak Slide Waimarino is a tranquil paradise situated on the banks of the Wairoa River just 10 minutes from Tauranga city. Our adventure park is focused around the sport of kayaking. Waimarino has been Tauranga’s premier kayaking & recreational destination since 1975.

We offer a number of unique & enjoyable glow-worm kayak tours, a range of corporate team-building options, new conference & function facilities, and after school and holiday care for children. We can provide an exclusive riverside venue for wedding receptions or a fantastic fun day in our park for your group.

Bring your family, swimsuits, barbecue supplies or picnic and make a day of it with one of our two adventure park pass options, or if you’re short on time, come down and rent a kayak by the hour.

For the best value for money and the maximum time for having fun we recommend arriving as early as you’re able, and leaving as late as possible; we open at 10am and close at 6pm.

Kayak Tours

With a wide range of kayak tours Waimarino has a suitable option for any family, friends, corporate or school trip. Leave the motorised transport behind and become captain of your own vessel. We have two kayak tours where you can view glow-worms from your kayak. Explore the expansive Tauranga Harbour or meander down the peaceful Wairoa River.

Children Playing Our award-winning out of school programme provides everything a kiwi kid could want. We cater for children between 5 and 14 years of age and our programmes are eligible for WINZ subsidies.

Children Learning Established in 1975, Waimarino has introduced 1000’s of students to the impeccable, safe experience that is Waimarino. Primary schools enjoy the safety, Intermediate’s love the experience, Secondary school students enjoy the challenge and Tertiary students enjoy the learning outcomes from the outdoors.
